A-Z Untrieds: O: Orchid by Candeo Colors

Hey look, it's more of the A-Z Untrieds! Yaaay! Today I've got a beaut. From Candeo Colors, I give you Orchid. Well first I give you Sephora by OPI Miss Bossy Pants from some sort of Glee mini kit I think. I'm not a Glee fan, sorry guys. But I am a fan of hot colors! And you should know me by now, I have to layer polishes :)

So here's SOPI Miss Bossy Pants. No idea what the reference is and I don't care. I'm just lovin the hot pink/fuchsia with the beautiful shimmer.

Here's Candeo Colors Orchid on top. The base is a deep pink jelly and the glitters can be affected by the base color, but in a really interesting and gorgeous way. According to Candeo Colors' listing of Orchid on their website, this "has a shimmery fuchsia base and is loaded with small copper, light purple, magenta and large silver holo hex glitter."

I love this polish! I think the SOPI polish underneath is a pretty good match for Orchid but I would love to see this over a vampier color too. The "shade" picture really captures how glowy the glitters look.

Right now this color is sold out on the Candeo Colors website but there sure are a lot of other gorgeous colors to choose from!

What do you think? Thanks for stopping by!

A-Z Untireds: N: Not Like the Movies by OPI

Hey kids! Back with some A-Z Untrieds! Today I have Not Like the Movies from OPI's Katy Perry collection from what seems like a million years ago. Admittedly I had no idea what the song sounded like until just now. Like I literally just listened to it because I felt like I should know the song the color is named after. I didn't care too much for the song. I guess I just liked the lyrics because I can relate to them, but I didn't care for how Katy Perry's voice sounded. Meh. I'm liking "Wide Awake" by her right now because I relate SOOOOO MUCH MORE to that song. I wanna cry every time I hear it. It pains me how much I understand what she's saying in that song. Plus her voice sounds way better and she's flippin hot in the video :) ANYWAYS I wish that OPI and Katy Perry would team up again and release more colors because Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey just don't do it for me.

Not Like the Movies is a silver duochrome, going from pink to green. Both sides of the duochrome were really prominent, although it looks like I could only get the green mostly. You can see a bit of the pink in the first picture. The formula is really sheer so instead of putting on coat after coat to get it opaque, I just layered it. I think I layered it over Confetti Lonesome Dove.

I really like this color, but I feel like "E.T." would have been a better name for it. I definitely think of extra-terrestrials when I see this color. I guess I can maybe see where the inspiration came from... silver, silver screen, movies...? Or am I just speculating? Whatevs, in my mind I'll call it "E.T".

Thanks for visiting!

Birthstone Series: February Amethyst - Eyes!

Heyooo back with a look at the makeup I did for the February birthstone, amethyst. I abso-friggin-lutely love wearing purple on my eyes. Obviously it's because I have green eyes, so the purple helps to make them pop! And I love this look sooooo much. It's actually pretty dramatic! Not as dramatic as what I'm currently watching, Face/Off. I really enjoy this show because I love seeing how people can transform others with so much creativity and hard work. I could never do that because I like being pretty too much haha. Speaking og pretty...

Products used:
Inner lid - BE Boudoir; Lid - BE Wowza; Crease - BE May; Highlight - BE 500 Thread Count.
Cheeks - BE The Tease; Lips - VS Melonrageous.

Well, what do you think? I love it of course! Stay tuned for more of this series each month! :)

Birthstone Series: February Amethyst feat. butter LONDON HRH

Hey gang! Watching the new season of Project Runway off to the side, so don't mind me if I don't talk so much! It's very interesting so far... teams, you know? Anyways, here's the color I chose to wear to represent the February birthstone, amethyst.

Here's butter LONDON HRH. I'm assuming that "HRH" stands for "Her Royal Highness"? Anyway, this is what I think of when I think of what amethyst looks like.

I love this color. The formula was okay, not flawless but I had a few bald patches after two coats so I went ahead and did my usual three coats. I also had to be mindful of brushstrokes. They weren't terribly prominent but as I said, I had to watch for them and paint accordingly. But I'm not gonna complain when I received this polish for free with a pair of shoes that I ordered online!

Again, here are some celebrities who have birthdays in February. Natalie Cole (6th, same birthday as my mom!), Seth Green (8th, same birthday as my step-mom!), Kim Novak (13th), Brandon Boyd (15th), Molly Ringwald (18th), and Alan Rickman (21st, swoon).

Makeup look coming up next! Thanks for looking!

Super Bowl Makeup

Hello I'm back again! This time I'm showing the makeup I did for Super Bowl Sunday, which of course was red and gold. Man, Bones is such a good show. Do you watch it? I'm actually watching it on Netflix so I'm only on season 4. But anyway, check out my makeup!!!!

Products used:
Inner Lid - #12 from Coastal Scents palette; Crease - Hot Topic red; Highlight - Soul.
Cheeks - BE The One; Lips - VS Melonrageous.

That Niners beanie is the only 49er article of clothing that I have and I didn't even buy it myself. And look, my glasses! I don't think youse guys have seen them yet! Maybe? I dunno. Again, my red and gold eyes didn't help lending mojo to the team. Oh welp! It's almost time for Spring Training!

Super Bowl Nails

Okay, I know this is super late, but my boyfriend just returned from China and I've been hanging out with him these last three days :) Obviously, even if you dislike football, you have ears and eyes and probably heard or read about who won the Super Bowl. Unfortunately it wasn't the team I was rooting for, although they came damn close. My mom was convinced that the refs were paid off and that's why they didn't call certain calls against the Ravens. I admit I was upset that they didn't win but not heartbroken like most Niner fans. Honestly I kind of hate football because of all the stupid rules. I could go on forever about the problems I have with football but I won't, especially now since it's BASEBALL SEASON!!! Yup, that's right kids, pitchers and catchers report next week!!!! Spring Training is coming up! YAY BASEBALL!!

Oh right, my red and gold nails.

I used OPI Red My Fortune Cookie, Love & Beauty Gold, and Pahlish Goldmine; Gutted. I free-handed the stripe cuz I'm lazy.

I was hoping that my nails would help give some mojo to the team but apparently not. Ah well, like I said, it's baseball season now hah. Stick around for my Super Bowl makeup :)
