EOTD: 6/23/2011

Hello lovies here's a makeup look for you! Man, I've been busy! I have a lot of catching up to do, so please bear with me! For now, feast your eyes on this look! My manager wanted us all to do a "bronze" look, and even though I personally hate bronzer on myself, I was up to the challenge so here's what I came up with.

This palette is my Coastal Scents Warm Palette.

I started with Gold Medal High Shine in the inner corner, did Vanilla Sugar as my highlight, and used the shadow numbered 1 in the picture as my crease color. Then I took shadow numbered 2 and layered it over the Gold Medal and crease color. I used the shadow numbered 3 and drew it along my bottom lashline over the Espresso liner.

On my face I used BE Faux Tan bronzer and I don't remember what blush, but I used BE French Roast lipgloss mixed with something else that I can't remember because French Roast by itself is way too brown for me.

Overall I really liked the eye look and I love Faux Tan for bronzer because it's not super sparkly or dark and it looks natural, but alas, I love being pale so I don't use it all that much.

Thanks for looking!!

Nail Polish Suicide: Finger Paints Get Real-ism!

Welcome to the first installment of what I'm calling "Nail Polish Suicide" featuring all of my untrieds! Now if you're cool like me and have ever been to a karaoke bar, sometimes they have a little something called "Karaoke Suicide" which entails a person getting up to sing whatever song the DJ picks. You have no idea what song it will be but you have to try to sing it whether you know what it is or not. This inspired me to do the same with my nail polish. I have a lot of untried nail polish because since getting really obsessed with nail polish I had a lot of catching up to do and new collections are coming out all the time from every brand and I keep collecting without ever actually trying the color on!!! So as a way to eliminate hopefully many of the polishes still sitting around, I developed this theme. You're probably wondering, why I don't just pick out a new color every day? That's easy: I'm a Libra and I'm really indecisive. If I had to look at the pile of nail polish colors and try to decide which color to wear, I'd be getting no where with it. So to solve that dilemma, I wrote some of the untrieds on pieces of paper, threw them in a hat box and whichever paper I pick, that's the color I'm going to wear.

So for the first color, we have Finger Paints Get Real-ism! I got this color from my Sally's and it's gorgeous!

Finger Paints Get Real-ism!
This color is a dusty greyed out lavender with a purple-pink shimmer running throughout. It kinda looks like muck in the bottle but on the nail, it's stunning, especially when the light hits it just right and you can see the shimmer sparkle. Now for me, some FP colors are hard to work with, but this one was fine. Covered well in three coats and wasn't too thick or runny. For that, I love it! So gorgeous!

What do you guys think of my kooky idea? I'm going to keep doing it (except for when I have fun holiday/party themed nails in mind, more on that later) because I think it's fun to leave it to chance! You never know which color could be next...!!

Have a great Monday errrrrebody!

Victoria's Secret Sexy Little Things Vixen Review

Eeeeeeeee more perfume! Haha, I loves me some perfume. One day I'd love to smell a crapload and make a website dedicated to finding perfume dupes. I dunno if there's already such a thing (if there is please tell me) because I can't tell you how many times I smell a perfume and think "Oh crap, do I already have one that smells like this? I can't remember!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" If I could just gather all the perfumes from Macy's Norstrom, Sephora and ULTA and anywhere else that carries perfume, I'd literally sit in one place all day spritzing all of the perfumes and smelling them to find similar ones, place them together and with my notes I've made, make a website informing the world of perfume dupes. I'm weird.

Here's what I got today!

Victoria's Secret Sexy Little Things Vixen
Holy jeez I love this stuff. Okay, so I was walking by Victoria's Secret after I got off work today and I remembered by co-worker said something about their sale of body/makeup stuff, so, curious, I walked in and browsed around. I have a perfume from there already called Sexy Little Things Noir and I knew they were doing a summer version of that fragrance so that was what I was originally looking for. Unfortunately (or fortunately??) that specific thing wasn't on sale, but this Vixen one was. It was 75% off. SEVENTY-FIVE. Percent. OFF. This fragrance is originally $45. It was marked down to $11.25. ELEVEN DOLLARS?!?!????! I bought two. I may go back and get two more. ZOMG I can't even stand how good of a deal this is, almost as much as I can't stand how much I love this scent!!!! So here's what Victoria's Secret says about this particular fragrance: "Sneak a peek. Make mischief. Be the fantasy in VIXEN™, a showstopping blend of bright florals. Tempting apple blossom, freesia petals and warm vanilla bean." You should all know by now how much I love girly scented things mixed with something more musky. This is amazing stuff. I spritzed it on a paper a walked around a bit, looking at other fragrances, but this one stuck with me. Then I tested it on my skin, again walking around looking at their bras on sale and whatnot. For me, if I keep thinking about the smell (in a good way), then it's a go. If I forget about it or if I keep thinking about it like "Jeez this smells terrible on me I wish I hadn't sprayed it on my wrist," then it's a no go. I would get a slight hint of it as I walked around the store and kept thinking "OMG I MUST HAVE THIS." Especially since it's so friggin cheap. I am seriously going back for more at that price. I'm wearing it right now and it's so damn pleasant! I can't wait to have the bf smell it, I hope he likes it! :)

One bad thing about this guy, however. I frick fracking HATE the atomizer. It's adorable and old school but it sprays very uneven and wonky. On my other fragrance from the Sexy Little Things line, the fabric covering it is fraying and making it difficult to spray sometimes! Oh well, I guess I don't care all that much since I'm considering owning four of these... ;) I literally want to bathe in this stuff and inhale deeply all damn day.

If you haven't yet, go check out VS's sale!!!!

NOTD: China Glaze Grape Juice and LA Girl Scandal and an update

Hey all, it's been a while! So for some reason, I've been in a funk and I haven't wanted to post... I don't really know why. Last week was effin terrible and while I've recovered I've been at work all this week and it's been non-stop. Not to mention my mind has been somewhere else. I tend to get like that once I become obsessed with something, like a certain song or movie... for instance I'm loving a movie called "Horsemen" (or maybe there's a "the" in there somewhere, I dunno). It stars Dennis Quaid and is about serial killers or whatever, but the thing about the movie that has me entranced is the performance of an actor named Lou Taylor Pucci, who plays Quaid's oldest son. FRIGGIN amazing acting job, I really can't get over it and I've developed quite a crush on him. It's a very haunting movie and for some reason, every review I read on it is claiming how terrible of a movie it was which seems silly, but maybe I'm weird? After all, I thought "Citizen Kane" was awful, and I love old movies. ANYWAYS, now you know why my mind is in another world.

So yes, on to the real post. This is the last of the mani's I did whilst without a camera, so the next ones you see will be my awesome idea for my untrieds.

China Glaze Grape Juice
"I want the purple stuff!" Bwahaha I love Dave Chappelle. So here's a freakin gorgeous grape purple glass fleck beauty. It was a tad sheer but covered well in three coats. Sooo sparkly and awesome.

LA Girl Scandal
I wanted to punch up the color a bit and if I moved my hands a bit in certain lights Grape Juice had a very slight pink shimmer to it so I just encouraged the pink by layering this on top of it. That's a pretty awesome run-on sentence right there. Whatevs, look how awesome this is! Eeeek so pretty! Scandal is an extremely sheer pink/lavender glass fleck color. I just layered one thin coat on top.

So yes, now I think I'll go watch that movie again since it is on Netflix instant. Lol, I usually don't watch thriller/horror movies again and again unless I really liked it, like "The Ring" and "A Tale Of Two Sisters". I'm probably the only person alive who LOVES "The Ring" (the remake)
and thought it was scary, everyone I've talked to hated it and didn't think it was scary at all. But I read the book so yes, I think it's quite disturbing! "A Tale Of Two Sisters" is a Korean horror movie that was remade in America and I think it was called "The Uninvited"?? But I can't remember because the remake sucked.

So yes. How's Thursday going for everyone?? YAY for next Tuesday! :)

NOTD: China Glaze Hey Sailor, Revlon Slipper and OPI Silver Shatter

Heyooo what's up? I'm pretty upset that the Giants lost to the A's of all people, but not only that, the stupid D-Bags are only a half game behind us now. I really need them to start slumping again please!! Also, what's up with Timmy?? I didn't see him pitch tonight so I don't know how well or badly he did but he's not been doing so hot as of late! I hope he gets outta this funk :/

Anywhatsits, here's a mani I did a while back sans camera! I LOVED this one and I hope you do too!

China Glaze Hey Sailor
For this mani I asked the bf what color I should do and he replied with "A retro red." Gosh I love him to pieces. This polish is the very epitome of "retro red", I mean it's called "Hey Sailor" for pete's sake and instantly reminds me of pin up girls during WWII in little sailor outfits.

For example:

All photos are the artwork of Gil Elvgren. He's my favorite!

Revlon Slipper
To rev things up after a few days I applied Revlon Slipper on top to make it pretty and glittery! Not that it wasn't pretty before, but now there's glitter! Yay! There's large hex holo glitter pieces and then tiny red and silver round glitters.

OPI Silver Shatter
And to top things off I put Silver Shatter over it. I wasn't into the whole shatter phenom at first but this silver shatter is just too gorgeous and I love it to bits. If you click the picture larger you can still see some of the holo glitter pieces coming through the shatter which looks awesome.

In all I was super in love with this mani and many customers complimented me on it. I'm actually quite interested in other colored shades for shatter, not just boring black which I'll save for a combo with orange if the Giants make it to the playoffs again :)

Anyhoosiers, I think that's it for me today, I'm super tired so I think I'll hit the hay early! Have a good Saturday! I have work all weekend, yay! Not.

40 Beauty Questions

Hey guys I got this from Miss Krystle over at Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow. If you haven't checked out her blog, click the link and do it now! She's got an awesome blog!!

Before we get started, I just want to talk about how upset I am that the Giants just lost in extra innings to the Diamondbacks thanks to a stupid walk-off homerun. Mind you, this happened mere seconds after Dave Flemming, my most hated commentator said "A homerun will end it for the D-Backs." Now I know he didn't actually cause the homerun to happen, but baseball consists of many superstitions and not to mention I just loathe Dave Flemming, this causes me to believe some mojo had to do with it. UGHHHHH. Well, at least we took the series, but we gotta keep it up and hopefully the D-Backs (or the Douche Bags, as I like to call them, and if anyone is reading from AZ don't take it personally :) it's just a fun baseball rivalry!) will start slumping and get beat by hotter teams! Anyway, now that I've bored you with baseball, let's get onto the questions!

Also, prepare to laugh your butts off, because I'm pretty sure some of my answers are appallingly funny.

Skin Care Questions
1) How many times do you wash your face each day?
Um, almost never. Eeep, I'm the worst! But my skin is so sensitive, I find if I barely do anything to it it's fine. If I'm lucky I'll wash my face at night or in the shower.

2) What type of skin do you have?
Combination skin with T-Zone oiliness and very sensitive!

3) What is your current face wash?
Bare Minerals Skincare Deep Cleansing Foam or Exfoliating Treatment.

4) Do you exfoliate?
Not every day but yes.

5) What do you use to exfoliate?
Bare Minerals Skincare Exfoliating Treatment and a washcloth.

6) Do you have freckles?
Yes ma'am!

7) Do you use eye cream?
When I remember to.

8) Do you/did you have acne prone skin?
No, but every once in a while I get a pimple.

9) Did you ever use Proactiv?
No sir!

Makeup Questions
10) What foundation do you use?
Bare Minerals in Fairly Light for summer and Fair for winter.

11) Do you use concealer?
I always use Bare Minerals Well Rested under my eyes and whenever I need it for a pimple or whatever I'll use Bare Minerals Bisque, both of which are AWESOME!

12) Do you know your undertone color?
I have a neutral undertone, meaning I have both gold and rose tones (aka a nicer way of saying yellow and pink). In winter though because I'm so pale I have more of a cool.

13) What do you think of false lashes?
They're nice for special occasions or when you're trying to recreate a dramatic or extravagant look, but I don't like them for every day. Besides you're not supposed to wear them every day, the glue can rip out your natural lashes. There's a girl who works at the Starbucks in my mall who wears them every day along with her foundation that is clearly the wrong shade... ugh, honey, no.

14) Did you know you’re supposed to replace your mascara every 3 months?
I do know that, but I haven't had pink eye yet, soooo..........

15) What mascara do you use?
Bare Minerals Flawless Definition Volumizing in Black

16) Sephora or MAC?
I like Sephora because of their range of perfume and the Sephora by OPI's but if you haven't guessed yet, I really only use one brand of makeup. That being said, I prefer MAC because if I need something that BE doesn't have (like premade liquid eyeliner) I can get it at MAC for a discount because of my Pro Card.

17) Do you have a MAC pro card?
Well, I guess I answered that already, lol.

18) What makeup tools do you use for makeup application?
I use every single brush from Bare Escentuals. I'm not kidding. I have a different brush for everything. Perhaps I'll do a post on it instead of trying to list them all here, cuz there's A LOT.

19) Do you use base/primer for eyes or face?
Bare Minerals Prime Time for face and eyes.

20) Favorite eyeshadow?
I definitely don't have one favorite, I have flavors of the week, though! I don't have one this week, however, but the ones I use the most often are MAC Tissueweight and BE Soul, Cultured Pearl, and Vanilla Sugar. I use all of those as my highlight color depending on what color the rest of my eyes are.

21) Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
I usually use either MAC Superslick Liquid Eyeliner in On The Hunt or MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack as my top liner. Sometimes if I want something soft I'll use pencil on top, and if I want a smoky eye or something dramatic I'll do pencil on the bottom, and I usually use Bare Minerals Big & Bright Eyeliner.

22) How often do you poke your eye with an eye liner pencil?
Pretty much never.

23) What do you think of pigment eye shadows?
Like the ones you get at MAC in the ginormous bottle? I love the colors and the pigment payoff, but when in the blue f--k am I going to use all that product???? So I stopped buying them.

24) Do you use mineral makeup?
Take a wild guess.

25) What is your favorite lipstick?
Bare Minerals Bavarian Creme and MAC Russian Red.

26) What is your favorite lipgloss?
Anything BUXOM!!! My favorite Buxom color is Sandy.

27) What is your favorite blush?
I have a lot, so here goes. They're all by Bare Minerals, if you couldn't guess. Glee Radiance, Fruit Cocktail, Papaya, Flowers, Escape, Pink Ribbon, to name a few. Perhaps I'll do a post on these too. Ooh, I'm getting all inspired!

28) Do you buy makeup on eBay?
Only when I need something from BE that's not made anymore, like blush that only came in a set!! Ahh!

29) Do you like drugstore makeup?
Not particularly. Not that I'm snooty or a brand whore, but I have everything I could ever need or want from BE.

30) Do you go to CCOs?
And those would be....?

31) Did you ever consider taking makeup classes?
Yes, but only for like special effects makeup.

32) Are you clumsy w/ putting on make up?
Not really, and I make it a point not to be just to prove to others who think mineral makeup is messy that it's not if you're careful.

33) Name a makeup crime you hate.
There are entirely too many!! First! Foundation that doesn't match! It's my job to find a shade to match your skin, so it really bugs me when I see a girl wearing the completely obvious wrong shade! Next! Chipped polish. I'm not even kidding. It's really unprofessional and just childish looking. I also really loathe a crapload of black pencil liner just on the bottom lashline. UGH clean up your look and figure out that all that black eyeliner is a terrible look and it makes you look like a hooker.

34) Do you like colors or neutrals?
Colors!!! I typically hate neutrals on me. If I was only allowed wear brown eyeshadow for the rest of my life I'd probably launch myself off a building.

35) Which celeb always has great makeup?
I honestly don't pay attention to celebrity's makeup because they're not the ones applying it! And it's usually something boring for the Oscars or whatever...

36) If you could leave the house using just one makeup item, what would you use?
Mascara, but I also must have eyebrows!!!

37) Could you ever leave the house w/o any makeup?
Yeah, but I try not to. Plus I love putting it on, so very rarely when I feel extra lazy can I leave the house without it.

38) Do you think you look good w/o make up?
I have pretty good skin so I don't think I look awful, but I still like a little something on my skin.

39) What is the best makeup line?
Well, duh! If you didn't know or couldn't tell from this post, I love Bare Minerals and I work there, so of course everything I use is from there!

40) What do you think of makeup?
I of course love it! It's such a great way to show creativity and make people happy at the same time. I feel sorry for people who hate makeup or only wear one eyeshadow color for their entire life! Experiment and have fun!!!!!!!!!! Makeup is not there to defeat you, so I don't get people who think makeup was invented as some sort of test!! It's meant to be fun! Don't take it so seriously! I see women every day having the most trouble trying to decide between lipstick colors like it's the hardest decision ever! It shouldn't be this hard! Jeez.

Well that's that, feel free to copy and paste and fill out on your blog, I'd love to read everyone's answers! And sorry for the long answers, I obviously have a lot to say and like to write essays about it. LOLZ.

Happy Birthday to Tim Lincecum!

Now it's not like he's going to read this (but don't worry, I already made my fb status about him) but I gotta show my love for my favorite Giants pitcher!!

GOD how I loathe that moustache. (Btw spell-check, that is still a valid way to spell "mustache".) Good thing he shaved.

NOTD: Finger Paints Easel-y Entertained

Another swatch from the weeks sans camera. I love this color! It's Finger Paints Easel-y Entertained. It got it at my local Sally's.

Finger Paints Easel-y Entertained
Oh man, this name is so groan-tastic. I don't know if I like it or loathe it. I think I'm leaning to loathe. Anyway, it doesn't matter because I love the color! The formula was a bit thick but not terrible to work with. I'd say the color is sapphire? Or amethyst? Blurple? Whatever it is, it's gorgeous and covers very well for a glitter.

Finger Paints Easel-y Entertained blurred
I blurred it a bit so you can see the lovely shimmer and glitter.

Nail Mail from Cherry Culture

ZOMG they're heeeeeerrrreeeeeeeee!!! LA Girl Glitter Addicts!!! Ain't it the truth! I feel like Ke$ha... "Throw some glitter make it rain..." LOLZ. Anyways, look at the pics I gots of my new stuffs!

Top row: Synergy, Purge, Nostalgic, and Aqueous.
Bottom row: Provocative, Inspire, Eutopia, and Euphoria.

Top row: Uninhibited, Animate, Flamboyant, and Flash.
Bottom row: NYX Girls Dreamy Glitter, Enchanted Forest, and Under The Moon.

I pretty much went on a glitter binge, can you tell? I'm still missing four colors from the collection and as soon as it's complete I'll swatch it! OMG I love glitter!!!

EOTD: 6/11/2011

Here's a look I did last week, I was going for something soft so I could put on a really punchy lip, something that I usually don't do. I usually go all out with my eyes and do a softer lip because most of the time I forget to reapply lip gloss/stick throughout the day anyway. Unless I'm wearing a red lip (or more recently a hot pink one, like here) I do pretty colorful/dramatic/dark eyes. This look still includes a little drama in the eyes but it's all about the lip.

Products: MAC Superslick Liquid Eyeliner in Signature Blue, MAC Typographic e/s (starred), BE Chic Nude e/s, BE High Shine Eyeshadow in Frost, BE Big & Bright Eyeliner in Charcoal.

Sorry about the wonky eyebrow, I put primer on before I did my eyebrows and when I do that, the power doesn't stick to my skin as well. At least my lashes look decent!

I did Chic Nude all over the lid and up under the brow. Then I did Typographic in the crease and Frost High Shine very lightly all over the lid. Signature Blue is my top liner and Charcoal is my bottom liner.

I can't remember what I used on my cheeks, I think it was Miracle blush by BE? But on my lips I used BE Pretty Amazing in Ambition. I love this color! I blotted it a little so it's not as bright and shiny as it usually is so it looks more like a stain. I really love the hot pink with the blue liner.

Giants are in the lead right now!! Gooo Cainer!!! And YAY for having Pablo back!! I love the Kung-Fu Panda! Tee hee!

Coastal Scents Color Palette

Hey guys, I figured I needed to post these since I haven't yet and because I desperately need something to do.

Here's one of my Coastal Scents palettes, this one is just called 88 Original Palette.

By itself, very vivid colors! Most of them are matte, a couple have shimmer.

Numbered for your convenience.

Sorry about the hairy arm, it's very difficult to swatch that many colors, especially when my left arm has a big ole tattoo on it.

As you can see, they're all very well pigmented and even though some colors look exactly the same, I'm glad to have variety and it really comes in handy when I wanna get creative and play! I have three more palettes like this, I got them all on the Coastal Scents website in a four pack for $70!! This palette by itself is usually $18.95. The other three are $19.95, $24.95, and $24.95. So instead of buying all four separately and paying $88.80, I got all four for $69.95! Yay savings!!

All in all, I think I got a good deal on these palettes since they all contain the rainbow in various textures and finishes. I think they will really perform well if I ever need to do extravagant makeup for any event or even for wedding makeup. Definitely see these working for Halloween and New Years and stuff. Three more palettes coming after this!
